South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit SC CWP

Janet demonstrates the proper grip and stance for a 12 Gauge defensive shotgun adapted to women.Columbia, SC, Here's what you probably want to know right away: if you're legally qualified to own and carry a handgun, we'll help you meet the training requirement for the South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit.

We'll also teach you how to use pistols, revolvers, and other firearms for self-defense and other lawful purposes. We teach from the civilian perspective. Civilians need a much different perspective from law enforcement and the military, and that's how we teach. So if you're an ordinary citizen who wants a South Carolina CWP and the ability to defend your own life and protect the lives of your family, you've reached a good place. That's what we teach.

South Carolina CWP

Joe shows the proper grip and stance with a defensive handgun for CWP holders.Yes, our South Carolina CWP course is approved by SLED to meet the training requirement for the South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit. We hold our CWP class on the first Saturday of every month. You complete the South Carolina CWP class in one day (time and weather permitting). People with no previous handgun experience are welcome. Our South Carolina CWP classes are small so that you get individual attention and help.

A bonus feature of our South Carolina CWP course is that it includes the NRA Basic Pistol certification that is required for advanced defensive courses such as Personal Protection In The Home and Personal Protection Outside The Home. We teach those courses too. Defensive Handgun Refresher

Janet demonstrates one-handed defensive shooting with a handgun for CWP holders. Our Defensive Handgun Refresher is a short course designed mainly for people who already have, or have qualified for, a Concealed Weapons Permit. Handgun shooting is a perishable skill. It declines unless you practice well and fairly often. So our Defensive Handgun Refresher helps you correct problems, and maintain and improve your skills. If you want to advance your pistol or revolver abilities--or if you simply forgot some of what you once knew how to do, this Defensive Handgun Refresher course is for you.

We'll diagnose your problems and help you correct them in our Defensive Handgun Refresher, guide you towards how to do more effective practice on your own, and probably introduce you to some new skills too. Remember that it's not a course in target shooting or competition. You can take this Defensive Handgun Refresher as many times as you want and as often as you feel the need. You need not have taken the CWP class from us. Everyone with a CWP or who has qualified for one is welcome.

Our Defensive Handgun Refresher is a short course. Each class takes about four hours, from 1:00 PM to about 5 PM. Expect to shoot about 150 to 200 rounds with your carry pistol or revolver. For dates of our Defensive Handgun Refresher classes click here.

We'll teach new firearms users the basic shooting competence they need in each course: new people are always welcome in our classes.
